Route description

The Dirndl tour starts at the Dachstein mountain station. From here, the well signposted and marked ski tour initially leads downhill. Important: Don't put on your touring skis at the start, as the first few metres in altitude are downhill. After the short descent, the leisurely ascent begins. Now it's time to put on your skins and follow the wide, secured ascent track. The route leads around the Dirndl in the direction of the Seethalerhütte.

Shortly before the Seethalerhütte, you reach a crossroads where you turn left towards the hut. The Seethalerhütte is staffed – please note the opening times. If you want to take a photo at the summit at the end of the tour, you have the opportunity to do so: There is a summit cross right next to the Seethalerhütte. On the Dirndl tour, you cover 190 metres in altitude over a distance of 2 kilometres per route. Please bear in mind the altitude on the glacier – you are at 2,700 metres above sea level on this ski tour.

The return journey follows the same route. However, you share the trail with winter hikers on this section, which requires a little more caution. The last metres in altitude lead back uphill to the Dachstein mountain station, where the tour ends.
