Everyone knows it, but not a lot of people do it: the skis at the end of the season should be waxed and prepared so that they are protected during the summer. But at the end of winter, when you're already in the swimming pool in your swimming trunks, it's an easy thing to forget.
So, let's go to the nearest specialist shop and put the equipment, whether ski or board, in for a service. You don't want to be the slowest on the slopes.
Be honest, who actually physically prepares for the ski season? As long as there is no snow, no thoughts are wasted on doing some strength exercises for the legs.
Our insider tip: Start the first exercises in October or November and the fun on the slopes will be all the greater, later.
The simplest of exercises will already work miracles: a few knee bends, forearm supports, mountaineer or lunge steps and you'll be in top shape for the new season.
Ski suit, skis, ski boots – does everything still fit? If not, you should find a replacement immediately. There's nothing more annoying than when your ski boot hurts when you're skiing. This can ruin even the most beautiful day of skiing.
The best thing you can do is to let the professionals help you. They know their stuff and are able to advise you so that you can enjoy your equipment for as long as possible!
It may be hard to believe, but sometimes the motivation for skiing at the start of the season is missing. One is not yet in winter mood and would rather go mountain biking in the mountains for a little longer. The best way to get in the winter spirits, is to book a ski holiday as early as possible! After this, you can start the anticipation of dreamy slopes, great views and prospects of ending the day with a mulled wine or a hunter's tea.
The first day of skiing always takes a little getting used to. The first turns of the new season are always strange, especially when your knees feel a little like jelly. In order not to make the start too difficult and not to miss out on the fun, you should ensure that you have the right technique. If you still have some catching up to do, it's best to book a ski course early or hire a ski instructor in the morning to help you improve your technique.
