Every year in January, the Hanneshof Balloon Weeks are a special feature in the Filzmoos calendar of events. On bright, beautiful and cold January days, numerous hot-air balloons rise unhindered into the sky and offer passengers a breathtaking view of Filzmoos, the Bischofsmütze and the mighty Dachstein massif. Of course, first-time passengers are "raised to nobility" after landing and baptized according to old balloonist tradition.
