21 December on the Dachstein is all about peace and contemplation. The evening begins with the cable car ascent to the Dachstein mountain station, where guests are greeted with a welcome punch on the viewing terrace. The subsequent Advent menu in the Dachstein Glacier Restaurant sets the mood for the next item on the programme: a literary-musical hostel quest, artistically designed by musician Josef Schnedl and author Peter Gruber. Accompanied by musicians Hans-Peter Knaus and Burkhard Höfer, they take guests on a reading lasting around one and a half hours under the motto ‘Aus den Lüften pfeift's der Wind: Es kommt ein Kind, es kommt ein Kind’ - an atmospheric, pre-Christmas walk in the mountains.
